Digging Into Human Rights Data

Welcome to the home of the Human Rights Research Project. This website is the Canadian counterpart to the "Digging Into Human Rights Violations: Anaphora Resolution and Emergent Witnesses" project, which was a recipient of the 2011 Digging Into Data Challenge. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the project has two active research teams: the US team is led by Dr. Ben Miller (Georgia State University), and the Canadian team is led by Dr. Lu Xiao (Western University).

Our site is divided into four main areas:

  1. Data Sources - Links to human rights violation research data
  2. Organizations - A list of organizations involved in human rights violation research
  3. Our Research - Background information and findings
  4. Members - Information about Dr. Xiao and her research team
